What is resilience?

Resilience is the capacity to manage change as well as bounce back from losses, adversity and stress. In an increasingly challenging world, resilience skills are becoming more and more essential.

Why resilience?

Stresses are a part of life, including change, challenges and adversities. Often our workplaces involve inherent stresses that ‘come with the job’ such as increasing workload, dealing with difficult people, dealing with organisational change and managing emotionally difficult situations. Learning to be resilient can assist us in two major ways: it can increase our ability to tolerate stresses in our life making us more efficient and effective. It can also increase our stress hardiness, thereby inoculating us to some of the more stressful situations that we face in our life and work. What’s more, resilient people tend to be happier, have more social and emotional intelligence, be more effective and experience greater wellbeing.

Why Steadfast Training?

Steadfast Training was founded in 2006 and has kept abreast of this exciting and developing field. Founder, speaker and lead trainer Ingrid Poulson, is well known and respected in the field, using both the latest research and lived experience to educate others about this important skill.

“More than education, more than experience, more than training, a person’s level of resilience will determine who succeeds and who fails” [Dean Becker]
